Using ICT

At Ballytober Primary School we are committed to delivery of the UICT (Using Information and Communications Technology) aspect of the Northern Ireland Curriculum and to prepare our pupils for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st Century. We endeavour to teach our pupils specific ICT skills but also use ICT as a tool to enhance teaching and learning in all aspects of the curriculum. We use the 5Es model to ensure a broad and balanced approach to the use of new technologies. The teaching of Internet Safety is also an important element of our ICT provision.

Our school is well resourced with the practical tools needed to deliver these curriculum objectives. The school library has an ICT suite and a complete set of 30 laptops for use in classrooms. Each classroom has an Interactive Whiteboard, and other ICT tools such programmable devices and iPads are used extensively in all classes.
