Eco-Schools

Ballytober Primary School is actively involved in the Eco-Schools programme.

We achieved our Bronze Award in May 2017 and went on to achieve the Silver Award the following year.  This year we are working towards the Green Flag Award. Our committee meets once a month and consists of pupils from each year group, as well as members of staff, parents and community members.

The primary aim of the Eco-Schools programme is to educate and empower young people to make positive decisions and become change makers for an environmentally sustainable world.

There are ten different topics in the Eco-Schools programme; Biodiversity, Climate Change, Energy, Global Perspectives, Healthy Living, Litter, Waste, Water, Transport and Outdoor Learning.

This year we are focusing on Biodiversity, Global Perspectives and Outdoor Learning.
